With an enthralling backdrop of the Koolau Mountain range, the bright blue Pacific Ocean and nearby Mount Olomana creating a memorable panorama of Windward side landmarks, it leaves no mystery as to why President Barack Obama often chooses to play here while visiting Oahu.
Olomana offers two distinct terrain themes as players are faced with water features on all of the first nine holes then must adjust their shots to account for wind, rolling hills, drastic elevation changes and bunkers scattered throughout the back nine. The par-5 18th hole is fairly straightforward, although with more than 530 yards between the tee and green depending on the course’s layout, golfers must grip it and rip it in order to finish the round at par or better.
