One of the newest additions to the happy hour landscape in Honolulu is 53 By the Sea offers a small selection of food and drinks at its lounge.
The restaurant, located in the oceanfront lot vacated by the popular John Dominis restaurant, serves fine-dining regional fare in an uber-luxe setting with some of the best views of Diamond Head and Waikiki.
The bar menu features tasty — though pricey — dishes like cayenne calamari with a jalapeno and lemonade dip, shrimp cocktail with a pesto aioli, and a clam and mussel bowl with chorizo in a white wine-and-tomato broth.
