Did you know that standing by for an earlier Neighbor Island flight leaving the same day costs nothing? Here’s additional information about this benefit.
Who qualifies for same-day standby for Neighbor Island flights?
- Pualani Platinum members
- Pualani Gold members
- Corporate Customers who have booked through the Corporate Web Portal
Are there any restrictions?
We would love to get you to your destination early, but with this benefit comes a few restrictions. You will not be able to fly same-day standby if:
- You’ve already checked-in your baggage on your confirmed flight and/or
- Your desired standby flight is departing in less than 30 minutes
How to request same-day standby
Are you checking in a bag? Depending on your answer, please follow the steps provided to request same day standby to a neighbor island.
Yes, I have baggage to check in...
- Check-in at the customer service desk located in the airport lobby.
- Let the airport customer service agent know that you would like to standby for an earlier Neighbor Island flight, # ___.
Make sure that your bag is tagged with your requested standby flight information. - Got your request in? Now we’ll keep your original confirmed flight reservation, and add your name(s) to the standby list of the earlier flight.
- Head over to the standby flight’s gate.
No, I do not have baggage to check-in…
- Check-in for your scheduled flight using web check-in, the kiosk at the airport or with an airport customer service agent.
- If you checked in using our web check-in or kiosk, please visit a Hawaiian Airlines airport customer service agent before security and let them know that you would like to standby for an earlier Neighbor Island flight, #___.
As much as we’d like to, we cannot do this at the departure gates because of limited time and resources.
Guests checking-in at Honolulu International Airport may also go through security and notify the service podium agent by Gate 56.
- Got your request in? Now we’ll keep your original confirmed flight reservation, and add your name(s) to the standby list of the earlier flight.
- Head over to the standby flight’s gate. With luck, you’ll be on the beach in no time!
